The second Ad Hoc ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM) Working Group was held virtually on May 9th, 2023 via teleconference. The meeting was led by the Chair of ADSOM WG, Director of Defence International Cooperation, BG Steverly C. Parengkuan, and was attended virtually by all 10 ASEAN Member States as well as the ASEAN Secretariat.

The Ad Hoc ADSOM WG was held to discuss pending matters for some documents that will be brought to table during ADSOM and ADSOM-Plus in August 2023, including the Draft Concept Paper on the Implementation of ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) from a Defence Perspective, Draft Guideline on the Display of the ASEAN Flag Next to the National Flag at the Compound of ASEAN Member States’ Military Units Participating in UN Peacekeeping Operations, Draft Jakarta Joint Declaration of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) for Peace, Prosperity and Security, as well as the Draft Joint Statement by the ADMM-Plus on Women, Peace and Security.
