The third Ad Hoc ASEAN Defence Senior Officials’ Meeting (ADSOM) WG and the was held virtually on July 12th, 2023 via teleconference. The meeting was led by Chair of ADSOM WG, Director of Defence International Cooperation, BG Steverly C. Parengkuan, and was attended virtually by all 10 ASEAN Member States and 8 Plus countries, namely Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Russia, and USA, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat.

The meeting discussed the ADMM-Plus Experts’ Working Groups (EWGs) 2024-2027 Cycle, followed by discussions on the Draft Joint Declaration of the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting for Peace, Prosperity and Security as well as the Draft Joint Statement by the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) Plus on Women, Peace and Security. The ADSOM WG Chair stated that the meeting has been able to agree on some agendas regarding ASEAN defence cooperation, and what have been achieved will further benefit ASEAN and contribute to the promotion of peace, prosperity and security of this region and the world.
